Catalyst New Features: Week of April 15

We're shipping new features every week until Catalyst Mainnet. New features will typically be on the Catalyst App, but can also include the Catalyst API and SDK, our open-source implementations of the Catalyst Underwriter and the GARP relayer, or documentation.

Main Feature: Permit2

This week, the Catalyst UI now supports Permit2!

Permit2 is a token approval contract developed by Uniswap Labs that can safely share and manage token approvals across different smart contracts (and thus applications).

Permit2 grants approvals through gasless signatures, and is highly customizable — with multiple simultaneous token approvals, flexible approval expiry, and batch approval/revoking.

Adding Permit2 drastically improves the Catalyst user experience by:

  • removing friction because users don't need to send a separate approval transaction
  • reducing transaction costs with gasless signatures; and
  • improving security via the added expiration time to approvals.
